Job Summary:

As a Shipping and Receiving Associate for our Wholesale Supply, you will play a vital role in managing the flow of products in and out of our warehouse. Your responsibilities will include receiving incoming shipments, processing outgoing orders, and ensuring accurate documentation for all transactions. Attention to detail, organization, and a commitment to efficiency are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and shipping software.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects and perform physical tasks.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and documentation.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and communication.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Requirements:

  1. Receiving Operations:
    • Receive incoming shipments of products from suppliers and vendors.
    • Inspect deliveries for accuracy and quality, checking against purchase orders and packing slips.
    • Record receiving information in the inventory management system.
  2. Inventory Management:
    • Organize and label received products for storage in designated warehouse locations.
    • Update inventory records to reflect received quantities and locations.
    • Communicate any discrepancies or damages to the appropriate personnel.
  3. Order Processing:
    • Process outgoing orders for shipment to customers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
    • Pick products from inventory based on order requirements and prepare them for packing.
  4. Packing and Shipping:
    • Pack products securely for shipment, using appropriate packaging materials and methods to prevent damage.
    • Generate shipping labels and documentation, ensuring compliance with carrier requirements.
    • Arrange pickups and deliveries with shipping carriers and logistics providers.
  5. Quality Control:
    • Conduct visual inspections of products before packing to ensure they meet quality standards.
    • Report any damages, defects, or discrepancies to supervisors.
  6. Safety Compliance:
    • Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols during shipping and receiving operations.
    • Use proper lifting techniques and personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  7. Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate records of all shipping and receiving activities, including receipts, packing slips, and shipping manifests.
    • Ensure that all paperwork is properly filed and stored for easy retrieval.
  8. Communication:
    • Communicate effectively with warehouse team members, supervisors, and shipping carriers to coordinate activities and resolve issues.
    • Provide updates on shipment status and delivery schedules as needed.
