Job Summary:

As a Counter Sales Associate for Wholesale Supply, you will be the frontline representative responsible for providing exceptional customer service to contractors, tradespeople, and retail customers. Your primary focus will be on assisting customers with product inquiries, processing sales transactions, and ensuring a positive and efficient experience at the sales counter.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in plumbing, electrical, or HVAC is a plus.
  • Proven experience in a customer service or sales role, preferably in a similar industry.
  • Must pass drug test
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong product knowledge and technical aptitude related to plumbing, electrical, and HVAC supplies.
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy products.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in order processing.
  • Positive attitude and a willingness to learn.

Requirements:

  1. Customer Service:
    • Greet customers warmly and assist them in identifying and locating plumbing, electrical, and HVAC products.
    • Provide product information, technical specifications, and recommendations based on customer needs.
  2. Order Processing:
    • Process customer orders accurately and efficiently using our point-of-sale (POS) system.
    • Handle order inquiries, changes, and returns promptly and in accordance with company policies.
  3. Product Knowledge:
    • Stay informed about the features, applications, and benefits of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC products.
    • Attend training sessions to enhance product knowledge and keep up-to-date with industry trends.
  4. Inventory Management:
    • Monitor and identify inventory levels at the counter.
    • Notify appropriate local Branch Manager when stock levels are low or when reordering is required.
  5. Cross-Selling and Upselling:
    • Identify opportunities to cross-sell or upsell related products to maximize sales.
    • Provide information on promotions and discounts to encourage additional purchases.
  6. Technical Support:
    • Assist customers with basic technical questions and troubleshooting related to plumbing, electrical, and HVAC products.
    • Collaborate with the technical support team for more complex inquiries.
  7. Cash Handling:
    • Process cash, credit, and electronic payments accurately and securely.
  8. Customer Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers by providing excellent service and addressing their needs.
    • Follow up on customer inquiries and feedback to ensure satisfaction.
  9. Store Maintenance:
    • Keep the sales counter area and branch clean, organized, and well-stocked.
    • Ensure product displays are visually appealing and in compliance with merchandising standards.
  10. Compliance:
    • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
    • Stay informed about relevant industry regulations and standards.
